As every year, the city of Madrid prepares with great enthusiasm to kick off thirteen days of celebrations, starting on Wednesday, August 2. This magnificent program of activities has been designed so that citizens can enjoy a festive atmosphere, with a special emphasis on music as a central element.

The opening ceremony will be in charge of the Fire Department of the Madrid City Council. Some of its members will have the honor of delivering the opening speech on the 4th, at 21:00 hours, in the emblematic square of General Vara del Rey.

No less outstanding will be the celebration in honor of the Virgen de la Paloma, which will take place on August 15, with events that include the lowering of the picture of the altar of the temple and the procession.

Likewise, the celebration of San Cayetano will be the epicenter of the festivities from August 2 to 7. On this occasion, Plaza Cascorro, Calle del Oso and the Solar on the corner of Calle Embajadores and San Cayetano will be full of life with activities ranging from photography of the festivities to street soccer championships for the neighborhood's youth.

From August 9 to 12, the festival of San Lorenzo will take center stage, offering a varied program that includes a petanque tournament and popular games in Mesón de Paredes street, as well as an artistic intervention in Bolardos in different parts of the district.

Finally, from August 11 to 15, the traditional atmosphere of La Paloma will be felt with enthusiasm. The Plaza de la Paja and the Jardines de la Vistillas will host activities ranging from puppet shows and children's music to chotis and fan competitions, not to mention musical performances by renowned artists.

These thirteen days of festivities promise to be a time to share in community, strengthen ties and celebrate the cultural and traditional richness of the city. Madrid dresses up to welcome its citizens and visitors, who will be able to enjoy a unique and joyful experience in every corner of the city.
