A study conducted by idealista has revealed the most affordable municipality in Spain, which is located in the province of Cordoba. Specifically, Fuente Obejuna stands out for offering the cheapest square meter, with an average price of only 334 euros/m2, according to the latest price report for the month of June 2023.

In this interesting ranking, two other municipalities in Cordoba occupy the podium of the most economical localities: Bélmez (340 euros/m2) and Peñarroya-Pueblonuevo (416 euros/m2). They are closely followed by the Murcian municipality of Bullas (419 euros/m2), as well as Campo de Criptana (432 euros/m2) and Villanueva de los Infantes (452 euros/m2), both located in the province of Ciudad Real.

Likewise, among the locations with prices above 450 euros, we find outstanding options such as Corral de Almaguer in Toledo (454 euros/m2), Socuéllamos in Ciudad Real (458 euros/m2), and Bembibre (459 euros/m2) and Villablino (462 euros/m2), both located in León. As for idealista's analysis of the most affordable locations in each Autonomous Community, three regions stand out with real estate markets below 600 euros: Nogueira de Ramuín in Galicia (543 euros/m2), Santa Bárbara in Tarragona, Catalonia (546 euros/m2) and San Martín del Rey Aurelio in Asturias (556 euros/m2).

Continuing the tour through the different communities, in Aragon Caspe (Zaragoza) is positioned as the most economical municipality, with an average price of 642 euros/m2; in La Rioja, Alfaro (697 euros/m2) is presented as an outstanding option; while in Cantabria, Campoo de Enmedio (707 euros/m2) stands out. Other municipalities of interest are Castejón in Navarra (793 euros/m2), Tanque in Santa Cruz de Tenerife (896 euros/m2) and Cadalso de los Vidrios in Madrid (902 euros/m2).

However, in case you are interested in residing in the Balearic Islands, it is important to consider that the most expensive island in Spain presents Sant Joan as its most affordable municipality, with an average price of 1,237 euros/m2. Similarly, in the Basque Country, Oión in Álava is positioned as the cheapest municipality in the region, with 1,131 euros/m2.
